Our managing director, Paul Smith, has again been allowed to hose an episode of the popular 50 Shades of Planning podcast, this time to learn about the planning system in Australia.

In the episode, guest Melissa Neighbour, owner and principal planner at Sky Planning, taught Paul everything there is to now about the Australian approach to planning.

Their discussion covered the differences between the approach to planning in Australia's various States and Territories, as well as the specific approach that is taken in New South Wales. Their conversation also covered the particular challenges the planning system poses for dealing with the housing crisis in Sydney, one of the least affordable cities in the world.

This is the latest in the "All Around the World" series of episodes, with more to come in the future as Paul continues to seek out planning experts from overseas who can help us find ways to improve the way we plan in England.
