Your choice of promotion partner is an extremely important one.

You can only sell a site once – so it is crucial the whole process is handled expertly.

The complexities of the planning system mean it can take several years to reach a successful conclusion, so a strong, trusting relationship with your promotion partner is vital too.

The Strategic Land Group is a little bit different to our competitors.

Our MD, Paul Smith,  personally manages every project so our clients all benefit from his extensive experience in housing and development, spanning two decades.

The planning strategy for each of our projects is tailored to the specific requirements of the site.

We work closely with our landowner partners and keep them informed and involved at every stage.

Unlike many of our competitors, we’re also entirely independent.

How does land promotion work?

Land promoters work to secure planning permission on your site at their cost and risk.

We use our experience and financial resources to promote your site through the planning system. With a planning permission in place, we work to find a developer to buy the site. The promoter’s fee is a usually a percentage of the actual selling price achieved – so if they don’t succeed, it doesn’t cost the landowner anything.

By delivering a “shovel-ready” site to the market with planning risk removed (for which developers will pay a premium) and marketing the site to generate competition from potential buyers, land promoters can help ensure you maximise the value of your land.

Why choose an independent land promoter?

SLG is not owned by a house builder so you can be certain the competition to buy your site will be a genuine one.

We’re not owned by a private equity company looking to grow the business before selling it on.

We’re not even owned by a single individual whose head could be turned by a substantial offer to buy the business. Instead, we’re owned by eight partners who have invested for the long-term.

SLG is not for sale and won’t ever be. You can be confident that the company you agree to work with on day one will be the same company that manages the project through to a conclusion - giving you certainty that your site will be exposed to truly competitive bidding, helping maximise the selling price.

Being proudly independent is just one of the ways we’re different.
