Auckland, in New Zealand, has become one of the world's most expensive housing markets. A series of reforms to the planning system - including allowing higher density development near transit stops - have begun to address that, with affordability beginning to improve.

In this episode of the 50 Shades of Planning podcast, omanaging director, Paul Smith, spoke to Kiwi planning expert Stuart Donavon, Senior Fellow at Motu Reseach, to understand how the planning system works in New Zealand, what reforms where introduced to boost housing delivery, and how support for those changes spread across the political divide.

This is the latest in Paul's "All Around The World" series of podcasts, where he speaks to experts from other countries to find out how their systems work, and what lessons we can learn in England.
