Paul Smith, Managing Director of The Strategic Land Group (SLG) has been invited to judge The Planning Awards for a second consecutive year.

Now in its 13th year, the Planning Awards was created to share success for projects across the country, along with individuals doing great work within the industry.

The 29 categories span planning and placemaking, including Best Housing Scheme, Design Excellence, Best use of Brownfield Land in Placemaking and Planning Permission of the Year.

Paul Smith, MD of SLG, said: “I’m really pleased to be part of the judging panel again for 2026; it’s positive to be able to recognise and celebrate success in planning and placemaking, particularly given the many challenges in delivering development.”

• Duncan McCallum, Chair of The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings

• Rebecca Phillips, Interim Chief Planning Inspector at The Planning Inspectorate

• Simone Wilding, Chief Planner at Bristol City Council
