We’re pleased to announce that Michael Shaw, Land and Planning Manager at The Strategic Land Group (SLG), has been shortlisted for Property Professional of the Year at the 2026 Insider North West Young Professionals Awards.
Organised by Insider Media, the awards recognise the region’s leading professionals aged 35 and under who are making a significant impact across their industries.
Michael joined SLG in 2022 and was promoted to Land and Planning Manager in December 2025, reflecting the strong contribution he has made to the business and its expanding strategic land portfolio. Working closely with Managing Director, Paul Smith, he supports the identification, acquisition and promotion of residential land opportunities across the North West.
Over the past 12 months, Michael has helped progress 14 strategic sites with a projected GDV of approximately £600m, while also assisting in securing new land agreements capable of delivering around 1,000 homes, strengthening SLG’s forward pipeline.
Paul Smith said: “Michael has made considerable progress during the last 12 months, delivering excellent results. He successfully combines technical planning expertise with commercial awareness, takes ownership of projects and builds strong relationships with both landowners and consultants. He is a genuine asset to the business and would be a deserving winner.”
The winners will be announced at the North West Young Professionals Awards ceremony in Manchester on 30th April.
