Paul Smith, MD of The Strategic Land Group, will be attending the 2025 BIAC National Rural Planning Conference, delivering a talk on Planning and Nature in flux; policies and possibilities.
This year’s conference will focus on breathing new life into the countryside and whether rural planning can be the solution, not the problem.
Paul joins a strong line-up including broadcaster and property expert Sarah Beeny, Adam Sheppard, Assistant Professor of Urban Planning at the University of Birmingham, and Paul Westaway, Chairman of the Royal Agricultural Society of England.
A chartered town planner and chartered surveyor with more than 20 years’ experience in the planning and housebuilding industries, Paul is also a Director of the Land, Planning and Development Federation (LPDF) and a member of the advisory board of Priced Out, Britain’s largest campaign for affordable house prices. In addition, he writes a monthly column for Housing Today, has contributed to the work of a number of think tanks and has advised government on the continued reform of the planning system.
Under Paul’s leadership, SLG has become one of the UK’s most successful residential, commercial and renewable energy land promoters and is now actively promoting sites with the potential to deliver almost 4,000 homes with a combined GDV of circa £1.2bn.
The 2025 BIAC National Rural Planning Conference takes place at the British Motor Museum on Thursday 9 October. For more information about the full day event and to book a ticket visit https://www.biac.co.uk/events/
